(More customer reviews)I'm permanently on a low-carb diet, so I won't be using this wonderful set of diamond cutters for making food with sugar and flour. But wow, am I pleased with this set!
I wanted a set of diamond shapes to use for crafts, and I was flabbergasted at how hard it was to find them!!! My maiden name is Diamond, and I use it for my middle name. That got me to notice the shape! And I grew to like it. But man, it was hard to find!
One thing I just figured out is how to trace these shapes. At first I tried running the pencil on the paper outside the shape. It didn't look tidy. The corners were rounded and I couldn't keep the pencil straight.
Then I thought to try tracing with the shape sitting on the paper, and tracing on the paper with the pencil from INSIDE the shape. Voila! I was even able to do this with the bittiest of the 8 graduated size diamond shapes.
I wonder if one reason you have trouble finding this shape for crafts is confusion about the name. I think when people think of a diamond shape, they think more of the shape a diamond stone might be cut into--and there are varieties of those, too! Oy!
These stainless steel shapes hold their shape well when pressed, and the bottom edge is bent just ever-so-slightly and neatly inward. I think this will be very reliable for those who want to use it to cut food, and it is easy to handle the shapes without cutting yourself.
Hubby located a quilting drawing thing that I could use to draw diamond shapes and he figured out how to use it and helped me until I kind of understood it, but it was not something I could have used the way I can use this set. I couldn't find a stencil sheet with these shapes! It is just amazing for it to be so hard to find.
So, I will treasure this set!
