(More customer reviews)I purchased two boxes (2-packs) of these for emergency use around my home in case of a black-out. So far I haven't had the opportunity to try them out, but a couple of observations for those who want some for their pantry.
The company that sells these offer them at a very reasonable price (my local store had them last year and Amazon still beat the price with shipping). This year my local store didn't even offer it. So availability in my area is an issue. Also, the company shipped them out fast and with great packing. No leaks, etc.
One thing that was really cool and I didn't notice in the item description, but they come with a pack of matches. How neat is that? Especially in an emergency, it's the small stuff you forget. I was really attracted to these because of the plastic "crystal-like" shield. I have used Lamplight Farms liquid candles before (they are great by the way) that were clear and just had a wick - no shade like these. These serve two purposes: It protects the flame from drafts and keeps the light from being too piercing for your eyes.
Overall, I highly recommend everyone get a pack or two for emergencies.
