(More customer reviews)I just received my Zipit and I was pleasantly surprised to see it did NOT come in a clamshell package. You need 2 AA batteries to use The Zipit. I had to play with it for a minute before getting it to work just right but the included instructions give very good guidance. If I had bothered to read them before trying to use it myself I would have been better off. There are some good tips in there. Once I got it to work, it was FANTASTIC! For a mother who has cut several fingers trying to open those stupid clamshells this was a breath of fresh air. I am actually looking forward to the next clamshell I encounter. One more use that is NOT mentioned in the instructions...when used with the safety cap on you can easily cut open envelopes, even the thicker package envelopes. A nice added bonus.
