(More customer reviews)My wife and I bought this chest as an alternative to storing our flatware in the "silver drawer" of our buffet.The problem with the latter arrangement was that there was no way, apart from wrapping them in flannel, to keep the individual pieces from scratching each other.This Reed & Barton chest proved to be the perfect solution.It stores 12 knives on the underside of the lid, and allows us to stack the other pieces in such a way that they don't move around.The two lower drawers offer plenty of space for larger serving pieces.The chest itself is made of solid wood, except for the drawer bottoms, which are made of particle board lined with anti-tarnish cloth.This is a good investment for the safe and convenient storage of your silver flatware.
